As a child, I had a Commodore 64 and always dreamed of having a handheld version of it. I learned to code on the C64 and spent countless hours playing games on it.

Recently, I decided to make my dream a reality and built a working board for a C64 handheld. However, I encountered some challenges with the keyboard and had to change my design. Eventually, I tested using a PCB overlay and tact buttons instead.

The firmware successfully boots straight to the prompt, just like a real C64, and it has been incredibly satisfying and fun to work on.
